Default Need Recommendations on Cleaning Adhesive Residue Off the Edge of the Hood

I decided to take my hood deflector off for good and because it's been on my car for so long, the protective tape that was applied between the bracket and the edge of the hood left some nasty looking smears of adhesive residue.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good product that can take this off without discoloring or affecting the paint on the car? Thanks.

Goo-Gone and then follow it up with a waxing. Don't get Goof-Off, that stuff will strip your paint.

Simply try the WD40 first to see if it works. Spray it on, wait for 5 to 10 mins, then wipe it off. WD40 is great for cleaning off the adhesive residue re price label and the tar spots on fender right after the wheel wells.

I also have same success using Avon's Skin-So-Soft Bath Oil instead of WD40.

I'll have to remember that next time, if I don't have any Goo Gone on hand. Thanks.

The Goo-Gone takes a bit of elbow grease, but it works.

3M makes a paint safe adhesive remover as well.
