I just bought my 03 pilot and found, what I thought was a dirty windshield, but after trying to clean it realized it was scratched by the wipers. My local glass guy said make a claim on my insurance and have it replaced. Anyone know of anything/product that might remove wiper blade scratches from glass?

Anyway, I wanted to remove bugs/dirt from my 2008 Pilot windshield. The scour pad has left swirl marks where I used it. I'm really suprised about this because I wasn't rubbing very hard and I understand glass windshields are quite hard. I thought maybe I had done something to a "coating" but Honda says there is no coating. I called a local auto glass shop (Apple) and they say scratches can't be fixed. I also did some internet searching on fixing scratches and the preferred methods is to use a mild abrasive like jeweler's rouge and lots of push-power. Again this is more force/effort than I used originally, which leads me to wonder what really happened in the first place and if there is a less dramatic fix for the swirl marks. I also tried some Rain-X 2-in-1 glass cleaner, but this hasn't helped. I cleaned the windshield inside and out thinking the swirls might be dirt, but no luck there. I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas or suggestions for the cause and a cure? Many thanks, Stephen |

Eastwood has a couple of glass polishing/scratch removal products that might do the trick. Here's one:
