We scratched/gouged the airbag cover in out 2006 Pilot. Is there a way to repair or replace this cover without replacing the entire airbag (costs about $1,000 to replace)?

From this diagram it doesn't appear that the item is sold separately, just a part of the air bag assembly which is item number 40. The cost of it is only $500, plus labour
