Default Cleaning the inside of wheels

I need a good way to keep the "backsides"(insides) of my wheels clean. Any suggestions?

i use a sponge and just try to squeeze my fingers through all the little spaces between the spokes. i can't get to the deeper parts, but nobody sees that anyway. maybe you could remove the entire wheel...

Thanks. I'm thinking about soething I can do at tire rotation time when the wheeels are off. A polish of some kind to help keep oxidation down.

Ran across some good advice today:

Clean the inside of the wheel with a scuff pad (Scotchbrite pad) and wax the inside of the wheel. It will keep it clean and prevent ocidation.

Looks great!

i wouldn't recommend scotchbrite pads as you run the risk of scratching the clear coat on the wheels. Clear coat failure can lead to oxidation of the aluminum wheels.

Detailing clay works wonders in removing baked brake dust. Once it is cleaned you can apply polish and sealant.

Thanks for the tip. I verified with the Honda dealer that the insides of the wheels are not sealed, this the fast pitting and oxidation (this Pilot is only 3 months old).

I'll treat them with care.

Why not just clean them and apply some clear coat, possibly the engine enamel type (high heat)
