Default Removing Wax From Black Trim

What's the best way to remove wax from black trim, other than not getting it there in the first place? Any suggestions?

Do you mean off the rubber trim around windows or surfaces like the front/rear bumpers?

I've had excellent luck with a product called Mother's Back to Black for car trim panels like the front and rear bumper to keep them black and/or remove any "dulling" factors.

Yah, I use Back to Black as well. Other detailing boards that I've seen suggest peanut butter.

I've also seen the peanut butter references, but never tried it. Doesn't sound to me like the easiest thing to use!!

Just don't use the crunchy! It's the oil in the peanut butter that does it. It works great to remove bubble gum from carpet, too. BTDT, was the car with that T-Shirt.

Spray on. Admire shine. I don't use it on the interior, though, just the exterior trim.

I would probably suggest spraying it on a towel and wiping it on that way. You don't necessarily want to be spraying down your whole car with this stuff just to get some wax off a small strip of plastic.

But if you're spiffing up the splash guards, the gray trim in the bumpers and that black trim under the front of the vehicle, spray away, with a delicate touch, of course.

I buy this stuff by the case after trying Stoner and others, there is no equal IMO to its quality and longevity. I also like the fact that the can has an adjustable flow control so you can change that for different parts of exterior. I use it on bumpers, trim, and especially the splash guards and the plastic parts of the grille where i might have gotten some wax in the grooves etc. Great stuff!

I'd been using Stoner More Shine Less Time for Tires, and decided I liked the Meguiar's NXT Insane Shine better. I tried the Hot Shine with the adjustable sprayer today. I like the adjustable sprayer, but like the looks of Insane Shine better.

another product that I have been really impressed with as of late is the Dupont protectant. You can also use this on your rubber and plastic parts but for tires its really good. Just like the Stoner (more shine in less time) product but it lasts much longer and stays on the tire walls much better than any product I have used yet. Very reasonable price too I picked up two 16oz bottles for 6.99 with a simple in store (Pep Boys) rebate.

Well, all those nice sprays will clear it up for a while - but the underlying problem: wax in pits stays. As soon as the shine wears off the white marks are back.

Peanut butter does work - but it's messy.

Best thing I've found is to put more wax on it - wait for it though - a very specific wax. Zymol sells a wax specifically formulated for flexible body parts - it's called "Detail."

Put it on, rub it off - it will get rid of the inflexible white wax (which is what causes it to turn white - cracking) and protect in one pass.
