Default What are your top products to clean your Pilot?

The interior of my car is rather disgusting right now. 2 small children and 2 not-so-clean adults have put this car through hell. There is sticky stuff (mainly juice) in the cup holders, stains on the carpetts, sand that doesn't seem to make its way into the vacuum, etc. Just a mess. I plan on doing a major cleaning this weekend and want to know what you use to make your car look its best.

Sounds like you need a kit from Stoner.

I use a damp Microfiber cloth to clean interior hard surfaces (door panels, dashboard, console, etc.) I can usually get rid of most carpet stains with a damp microfiber cloth as well but for more stubborn stuff I'll use a carpet cleaner like Stoner one shown above. If you have leather seats, Lexol makes a good cleaner and conditioner (available in wipes).

Also, the Catch-all carpet floor mats are great. Once they become soiled, just hose off the dirt and they'll look new again!

I try to start with the least invasive and potentially problem causing methods and work my way up.

For the cup holders with sticky stuff (my teen and college kid - see no hope for many years) I start with a damp/moist microfiber cloth and a sponge. The sponge can soak up the juices.
Then I use the microfiber on the dash, all door surfaces, console areas, etc to try and wipe it clean. Have only used Stoner's Invisible glass and its great so recommend the kit above (or maybe just buy what you actually need). For the carpet, you might want to try the dry powder Oxy Clean stuff.

Remember on the next trip - No food or drink means no mess or need to stop. Ok so they cry, they will cry anyway. just kidding)

Remember that most have had to affix a straw to their vacuum to get between the seats and the console. Take pictures as you go and let us know how it comes out.

For interior carpet I use a product called Folex, Spray the stains, scrub with a brush, then extract with a shop vac and warm water.

For really dirty interior vinyl and leather, I use a 8:1 Woolite mixture. Dampen a towel and it will clean most interior surfaces quite well.

I dress interior vinyl with Poorboys Natural Look, and condition leather with Poorboys Leather Stuff. They Poorboys products are available online for about $15/bottle. These are by far my favorite interior poducts.

If I were choosing OTC products, I would probably use Armor-all low shine dressing for vinyl, and Lexol or Zymol conditioner for leather.

The ones sold in those major retailers are OK for cleaning your rims and wiping down your interior (sorry Jay). I get mine from http://pakshak.com, yes, they're very pricey, but they make excellent MF towels and accessories. Make sure you pick up the waffle weave ones. Meguiar's (http://www.meguiars.com/) also carries some premium MF and detailing supplie too.

The Vroom brand that I get at Target are pretty good. The ones at Wal-Mart aren't so good. The other places, it depends on the brand. I'd rather pay more for a better quality MF towel, than put up with the crap from Costco that leaves yellow lint all over the place.

My sentiments exactly, Jay

I use 303 Aerospace Protectant on my dash and other plastic or vinyl surfaces on my interior as well as exterior. Highly recommended.
