Hey I am a new owner of a 2006 Pilot EXL. I absolutely love it but am curious on how to keep it showroom clean. I have never owned a car with leather seats and am wondering the best way to clean them. Are there wipes I can get to keep them clean without them drying out the leather? Any help would be appreciated. BTW I had the leather treated at the dealership so there's already a protectant on them. Thanks for the help.

Welcome to hp.org. The orange search link works for questions like this. Here's a thread on the topic. Several of us prefer the Lexol products for keeping the leather in tip-top condition.

There are alot of good products for cleaning & conditioning leather.
For cleaning dirty leather, Woolite mixed 8:1 is the best thing that I have found. If you want to stick to OTC products, Lexol is a good conditioner. Turtle wax cleaner/conditioner is also a good product. My favorite product for leather is Poorboys Leather Stuff, which is a light cleaner and a conditioner. It is only available online, but the price is not to bad ($15 bottle). This product is also great on dashboards and other interior plastics. |

Woolite may be good - but get stuff that's PH balanced for leather. Lexol is pretty good for a starter product - that is, wipe on, wipe off, protect, wipe off.
If you get serious, you'll want something like Connelly's Hide Food (sp?) or better yet, my favorite, Leatherique. Their main product - Rejuvinator Oil is amazing. You put this stuff on, put the car in a hot spot so the seats sweat, then be amazed at the sheer volume of crap, salts, fast food gunk etc that ooze out of the pores. Anyhow - can't say enough tood about it. Read more at Leatherique Site Cheers. Peet |

If you are looking for a good cleaner/conditioner in one type product, then Poorboy's Leather Stuff is pretty good stuff. I've only recently been able to use it, but it did a great job and impressed me. Here is the leather on a 99 Escalade that I detailed the other day.
![]() ![]() There are several places you can get it at. I bought it at www.detailcity.com because I got a discount from being a member of their forums. The product is the same no matter where you buy it from though. |
