Default cleaning off gunk from electrical tape

so back in 03 or 04 i noticed that this clip was missing

i was lazy so i just covered it up with some black electrical tape which is still holding strong but today im going to go buy the clip from the dealership
i removed a corner of it and there is quite a bit of the gunk left behind.
what product will remove that but not harm the black plastic

If you use something that makes a booboo, Stoner's Trim Shine should clean that mess up.

Goo-Gone is always a good bet for glue residue
