Default Clay bar question

Are clay bar products only meant to be used on older paint? I have an '06, and I'm determined to keep the paint looking new, but I've no experience with paint finish products. Should a fine-grade clay bar step be part of my routine now, or is it too early?

This is just my opinion. Clay bars can be used on any paint, old or new. The first thing you should do is wash your vehicle thoroughly with Dawn (or comparable) dish soap to remove any wax, grease, and oil from your paint. Then, my recommendation is to use a clay bar to remove any bonded surface contaminants such as dust, tree sap, bug marks, hard water deposits etc. from the paint before applying any polish or wax.

Since you have an '06 I would wait a bit long before using a clay bar to take full use of its advantage. But if you're anal like some folks, I don't see too much harm in using it now.

The Klasse All-in-One instructions specifically tell you NOT to wash the car with Dawn. If you're using the Zaino system, go for it. Otherwise, use a car wash liquid to wash the vehicle.

Claying a brand new vehicle is worth the effort, IMHO.

The 03 had the Japanese sounding horn -- high-pitched and whiney. After that year, Honda started to put a stronger sounding more euro/american sounding horn.

While I can't vouch for their nationality, the '03 was a wimpy horn, and the '04 was more suited to the stature of the Pilot.

I've heard that Dawn or any dishwashing soap is bad for a cars paint. I'm not sure if this is true or not but why take chances with a new car.

Google up Zaino and you'll see that the Zaino system does tell you to was the car with Dawn to strip off the old stuff first.
