Default Which Fabric to wash my Pilot

I was just wondering what Cloth/Fabric any of you use to clean the pilot. My Pilot is black so I dont want any cloth to leave bits and pieces of it all over the Pilot. THANKS

Any quality microfiber towel should do the job. I currently use towels from www.pakshak.com. A bit pricey, but worth it IMO.

I can report on the quality of the Costco bundle -- DON'T DO IT. They are poor quality, and leave lint everywhere. DO NOT BUY them.

On the other hand, the Vroom brand microfiber towels at Target, particularly the orange professional detailing 8 and 12 packs, in the auto section at Target, are excellent.

For washing, though, you need a sponge or wash mitt. The Vroom microfiber sponge at Target looks like it'll do a nice job. I'ne not used my brand new one yet.

I use the Vroom MF sponge and MF super absorbent towel from Target. The sponge is good, holds a lot of water and such, the MF drying towel I wish was bigger, but it gets the job done.

Just remember to use one soap bucket and one clean water rinse bucket with grit guards to help prevent some of that spider webbing you get on dark cars.

I don't use a bucket, I use Eagle One Bucket-Free Wash and a sponge. Just a few squirts cleans my whole Box.

Thanks for the suggestion. I happen to have an unopen package of the Costco MF that I was going to try out.

Default What about.............

Old fashioned terry cloth towels cut up into pieces or bought in a pack at a Sam's Club type of place. Good to wash with and terry is good to wax with also. Maybe I am just behind the times!

Also, I still use a genuine Chamois to dry off. A good one years ago was camel leather (I kid you not). It is hard and expensive to find a good one today, but if you can, you can use one 20 plus years if you take care of it.

from what I understand, the old leather Chamois have no where to trap dirt, so you just end up dragging it back and forth across your nice paint and that's how you end up with the spider webs. Same with terry towels.

The 'new' hi-tech mircofiber towels actually have weaves in it that traps the dirt and keeps it away from the paint.

I use the costco bulk package of MF towels, I have not had any issues with them for use to apply and remove wax and have not seen excessive lint. It's cheap and it works decent enough...

Default By the time........

you get to the chamois, your car should only be wet, not dirty. There should be no dirt to trap (in theory). The chamois is only to dry w/o streaking. I do know that keeping a well rinsed and clean chamois is a happy one that can last many years. I am willing to try the MF towels to wash or wax for a change of pace. I may learn something new! Cheers to all!
