Default Watermarks!

I wash my pilot pretty regularly, but their was a period of a month where i didn't wash it and i had watermarks all over the car. I washed the car and the watermarks were still there but hardly noticeable because there was no dirt which had stuck to the watermarks. A week later the watermarks are there again with dirt stuck to them! i wash and i go through the same routine and nothing seems to work! thinking about taking it to my honda dealership and maybe they got a technique or better washer stuff the me or the normal drive through carwashes?

maybe an obvious question but do you keep a good coat of wax on it? I wash mine every week and keep a good coat of wax, I have never had that issue and we have rock-hard water here in Claremont.

In case you didn't have a good coat of wax on it, use a clay bar to remove the water deposits. A clay bar can just about remove everything. You can pick up the thing in any auto parts store, it should be located where the waxes/polishes are.

Yeah, thanks, sfhondapilot, forgot about the polish, etc. part. That would be pretty integral in keeping the finish nice!

Water spots drive me crazy, too! First of all, I try not to wash my car in the direct sunlight. You don't want that water to dry on the car. Secondly, there are minerals in the water that cause these deposits. I just sent away for a hose-end water filter today. I'm hoping this will eleviate my water spotting problem.

A number of members use the Mr. Clean system just for the filtered water rinse to avoid spotting. I final rinse without a nozzle on the hose end, then dry with an "Absorber," then go back over the car with a microfiber towel and Eagle One Wax as U Dry spray. No spots here!
