Unhappy ugh........can anyone help

Ok.......so I washed my 05 Pilot the other day (it is Nighthawk Black) and as I was drying it I noticed scratches on the hood in two different places. They are not deep deep scratches but deeper than swirl marks. It looks like maybe a cat jumped on the hood and started to slide (had a pretty good coat of wax on there) and when he started to slide he dug his claws in trying to get a grip and still slid. I tried to buff the scratches out with Zymol and it definitely helped but I can still see the scratches. Honestly, if I even tried to take a picture and post it here the scratches wouldnt even show up in the pic. But I can still see them and it is going to drive me nuts.
Can anyone help?..............Is there a way to get the scratches out without bringing it to a body shop? The scratches are not down to bear metal so I suppose they could be buffed out..........
Any help is appreciated.

I'd try either Kit Scratch Out or Meguiar's Scratch-X. I've had good luck with the Kit Scratch-Out.

Thanks Jay. I will give that a shot. Does it matter that I put a coat of wax over the scratches already? I imagine the Scratch Out stuff would take the wax off anyway.

It doesn't matter. You'll need to re-wax that area afterwards anyway.

If that doesn't work, you're definatele in for the body shop. I can't see a body shop charging you much if anything at all to take the buffer for a minute on an area to take out the scratches. Maybe I'm just spoiled but I have a place nearby that does that kind of thing for me free. I've been in a couple of times for paid visits which is maybe why they don't charge me buff a scratch.

You're spoiled, and have built a nice relationship with that shop. Around here, it's hard to even get a free estimate out of them anymore.

I googled this up from a 3M website:

3M™ Imperial™ Hand Glaze is a non-silicone, non-wax hand glaze. It is used by hand to refine and fill swirl marks after machine glazing. This product has been formulated to work on all colors and can be painted over.

from the same site you googled it, I have used the 16 oz size in the black container and I'm not sure if it is the same product you are referring to. It says "provides wet shine look." That's the one I use and really works wonders. It brings out the black color and shine in the car and hide those swirl marks. I think it is available in pepboys for $15.00

Thanks guys,

Sorry, should have just Googled it myself.
I will give that a shot too.......heck I will try anything. After putting Zymol on there they disappeared quite a bit but I can still see them if I look at an angle or look closely. I know I am anal about it but it will bother me. I have two other dings in the doors too but those dont bother me as much as the scratches in the hood That was the nice thing about my Civic with 184,000 miles on it that was paid off............I didn't care about anything on it.............lol. I waxed it and it looked as good as I could get it and that was that. Now, with a $28,000 vehicle I just want it to look great all the time and I am paranoid about it
Thank you so much for all the help.

Well...........I tried the Kit Scratch Out today and a LOTA LOTA elbow grease......I think the scratches are pretty much gone. It got dark out while I was buffing polishing buffing polishing buffing polishing buffing buffing buffing. But I think I got it all. The scratches became all but invisible. They kinda looked like VERY VERY light brush marks in the paint that you could only see while hovering directly over the area and looking VERY closely. If I asked you to find where the scratches were on the hood you would have a very hard time finding them. I can find them but I know where they were. So..........all in all I think it was successful. .......although I wont know for sure until the sun comes up tomorrow Scratch out seems like pretty good stuff though.
I re-waxed the whole hood when I was satisfied that they were pretty well gone too.

Sounds like you got it. I can see a few scratches on my RX 330 that others can't see at all. And when the sun's not out they don't bother me at all.
