Default Red Rock touch up paint

Okay, here is probably the dumbest question of the day.
I have had a big problem getting Red Rock Reed for my '03 Pilot. The Honda number is: R 519p-4.
Seems Duplicolor does not make it, which I cannot believe since the color is still current.
Thanks people.

Somewhere in all their info they did mention that the clearcoat would make it darker. I had to remove the clearcoat and start over. Apparently the bumpers don't have clearcoat on them.

I would recommend the aerosol spray. I used the brush and I think the aerosol would be better.

I just purchased the touch-up paint from the stealership......the one thing the parts department ordered right for me. It was a perfect match. I can't even tell where the chips were anymore

Weynerd.............how did you apply the touch-up paint. My Pilot is only 3 months old and she already has some small dings on her .......VERY upset about it...........but I do have the touch-up paint. Did you keep applying it until the chip was level with the original paint again or just apply once? Any hints?

Mine had a small chip on the fender from delivery (never take delivery after it rains!) and I touched the point of a finish nail to the paint brush and then lightly touched the fender. It took a couple of tries to get it right. I wiped off boo-boos with an old t-shirt.

For a little larger chips, I use this brush from Griot's Garage. Again, it usually takes a couple of tries.

Just FYI - I ordered a Chipmender paint pen in Redrock Pearl from HandA when I first got my Pilot. Then, I ordered one in Indigo Ink (my wife's '03 Toyota) directly from the company.

Both paints are a good bit darker than the paint on the vehicle. I'd recommend you look to your local dealer for a better match. At least if it doesn't match, you can go back to them and demonstrate it.

I just had my first experience with Chip-Mender. I got a pen for my Scion; the color match was perfect, and the control you have over the flow of the paint is super. I'm sure I'll get much more use out of this than I ever would out of the old bottles with a brush.
