Default car wash-hose?

hi all,
I remember seeing different ads showing a hose (green one which can be rolled onto a wheel). It shows it can vastly improve the pressure and cleans car comfortablly. i can't recollect what it is.

can somebody help me out?

or there any better hose that will do cleaning (i believe something like mr.clean) is it good?

thanks,

drb

Is that the flat hose you are refering to? I have heard that it has to be completely unrolled off the reel to use it. That would suck...

Yup, and all the water has to come out of it to roll it up.

Thanks, yes. flat hose. Now i remember. After seeing your posting, now i think it makes sense without unwinding completely one cannot use it. hmm....that's a drawback. How about those spring/coil type hoses? are those any good?

i read about Mr.Clean, seems like a good one. has anybody have any comments on it?

thanks

I myself don't like the coil hoses. Hard to maneuver around a vehicle. And, the Mr. Clean car wash system is awesome..(IMHO).I had a black Pilot, and now a Sagebrush Odyssey...and I don't have to dry it and it's spot free.

I've often wondered if the Mr. Clean system was worth it or just a new gimmick. Might be real handy for those days that you want to give it a fast wash. Any other happy users?

How do you guys feel about using pressure washers? I'm debating buying one.

I use it all the time. Works great! It just filters the minerals out of the final rinse so that there is no spotting. I only use it for the final rinse though. I wash using Meguiars soap and a lambs wool mitt, then rinse with the normal hose, then use the Mr Clean filtered spray.

Yes the rinse works great, no spots at all, and we have very hard water. I use the soap and use a soft brush to clean the Pilot, regular water rinse, then the special rinse to finish off. It dries quicker too. DO NOT use it in the sun, not too forgiving.
I have had this since last year and it is great. I must admit, I bought it when I was at Home Depot, and it was a damaged box, so it was $18, couldn't resist.

I don't think it's necessary for vehicle washing....

After moving, I now have the opportunity of washing the car myself at the garage (car wash at CT is killing me-very expensive).

after the above postings, i decided to do the following.

1. buy a 50ft garden hose (not flat one) and Mr.Clean

I need help in
1. choosing Mr.Clean starter kit or pro series? which do i need?
2. any suggestions on waxing? wasier way to do it? i am no pro in cars. just have one. that's it.

any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

drb

What is the difference between the starter and the pro series?

I agree with that. It's overkill. I have Karcher 1200 psi (IIRC) but never use it on any of our vehicles. It's great for cleaning our Trex deck and vinyl siding though. I would just stick to using it on places where the dirt really sets it and that's not the case on an auto. Unless you have lots of dents and crevices!

Thanks, sounds like a plan. I'm already a Meguires soap/lambs wool user so I'm 2/3 rds there!
