Default strange film on my Pilot after waxing

Last night I washed my car and waxed it for the first time since getting it a few weeks ago. I used Black Magic Liquid Wax. When I was done I noticed a strange film on it that looked like there was a thin layer of grease on it. I have never seen a wax do this but I have never used this wax before either. I tried to rub it off but nothing happens.

Does anyone have any idea of what is going on?

My Pilot is an 05 EXL Sage Brush Pearl if that matters.

Thanks.

Was it a cool and damp time when you polished it? What type of cloth did you use?

Try washing a small section with soap, rinse, and dry, and try the same wax again on half the section, and your usual wax on the other half and see what kind of result you get.

I had this happen to me once, and it was the wax I always use, but it was a cool damp evening.

Good luck.

I have been using Meguires FX, followed by Meguire's caranuba (sp?) wax.

Good luck

It was about about 70 degrees out and sunny but I was in the shade.

I will try your idea when I get a chance. Thanks for the advice.

I've had that happen with Meguiars Gold Class if you do not let it dry completely before wiping off.

I suppose that make sense. I am used to using The Wax Shop Liquid Glaze and that stuff dries really fast. I put the wax on and started immediately taking it off from where I first started thinking that had plenty of time to dry.

I was just hoping I didn't harm the finish.

You will not have harmed the finish, but it will probably look that way until you wax again or it weathers.

Liquid dishwashing soap is really good at removing wax.
