Question care and cleaning of clear Bra

Just got a clear bra for the wifes new pilot. What is the best way to clean and keep it looking good? Anyone with experience. You guys are the best.

Are you talking about the clear film application?

BTW before Jay gets here (must be at dinner tonight)

Edit: Ooopps just noticed that you only have two posts. Jay is known for asking for pictures with the above icon. Our way of having fun.

Would like to see pics if possible of a clear bra.

Maintain the clear mask the same way you would maintain the rest of the paint. Wash frequently and wax often.

Ok I'll try. First part 1 of the story. Took the pilot to what I was told to be the best place to get a clear bra. Also wanted to have the windows tinted (it's the best place around here for tinting) So first off the lady behind the counter told my wife that the windows were already tinted and she didn't need any tint. So she leaves it to have the clear bra done, said to pick it up at 5:00. We get there to pick it up and they said it would not be ready till morning, needs time to dry properly. So the wife picks it up and guess what? Yea you'r right it looks like crap.

Ok the saga moves on. So we take it back the next day and tell them that it's not acceptable. They tell us to leave it and they will take it off and reapply it again. Found out later that this was the first pilot that the have ever done. (sure looks like it) Well we go get it that nite and I still don't know if i like it. OH Hell I don't like it. But the wife says she can live with it better than rock chips. They told us to take it for a couple of days and decide what to do. They will remove it and refund our money if we want.($185) On the front where the big problem was they cut and seamed it at the lower part of the hood. Every where else looks ok, but there are stretch marks where they have pulled it to lay it down over the curves of the hood. Makes it look like a bad paint job. No one else in the family seems to notice it until I show them. Oh well I think the Wife will just keep it anyway. Maybe see if they will refund some of the money??

What a shame. Looks like the installer's first try with this film.

I had rippling like yours on one of my mirrors. The fellow that installed mine had a tough time in a similar area that you show in your picture because of the change from convex to concave surfaces.

It would be nice to know if this can be re-worked, but it is more likely that that piece would have to be re-ordered. Not sure I'd go back to the same guy except to push to get a replacement part.

All the edges seem to be down and tight now. it's just the seam that can be seen so well that bothers me. Lots of rain here right now so we'll see what things look like in a couple of days. Thanks for all the input and help.

Did all of the wrinkles go away when they re-applied it as in the first picture that you took in the sun?

It doesn't look bad accept for the seam where they cut it to get it to fit around the curves. Just remember that the camera can be unforgiving. I'm pretty anal about stuff like that and I tend to focus on minute details that my wife just doesn't think are a big deal. If you're not happy, the bottom line is get a refund and get one from another company who does have history installing them. It's enough money to warrant your being pleased with the installation.

BTW, that's a very nice color on the Pilot. I haven't seen many dressed like yours.

If inclined, I'd be interested in seeing the final installation under sunny conditions to see how it ultimately ended-up.

Thanks for sharing your experience and pics. It's still a better alternative than putting a deflector on.
