2016 Honda Pilot

I recently tapped the front bumper of another car with the rear bumper of my 2016 Honda Pilot. My bumper had a superficial scrape and the other car had a slight dent. After the incident, the vehicle would not re-start and eventually had to be towed to the dealership where they diagnosed a damaged wiring harness. The repair was fairly expensive. Has anyone else had a similar problem? It is surprising to me that a bumper to bumper tap would disable the vehicle and cause the amount of damaged that it did.

Pictures? Which harness? Don't think anyone else has had this issue. Those harnesses are usually buried behind layers of protection. Hard to believe this bump caused that damage.

It's go me thinking about inertia switches that cut off fuel in the event if an accident.
What's the part number they "replaced". I'm a sceptic...

On Touring/Elite there is a wiring harness for the parking sensors, but it would be pretty silly if damage to those disabled the vehicle.
