MPP or Honda Care?

Hi All,

New Pilot owner here. While I feel I got a fantastic deal on the actual vehicle I fell for the Mechanical Protection Plan. After reading these forms and doing more research this is NOT the same an Honda Care extended warranty correct? I should cancel? I just bought the vehicle Sat (3/18). Should I shop the extended warranty people are mentioning in threads. I guess it's pertinent that I have the Touring. I'm in Texas so have 30 days to cancel.

Cancel, cancel, cancel! Do not pass Go! Do not collect $200!

Seriously, that MPP sounds like a 3rd-party warranty right off the bat. Honda Care is all you need.

Although it sounds like you "caught" this in time, lesson learned - research before you buy.

MPP or Honda Care?

Maintenance Plan -- prepaid routine/interval maintenance
HondaCare -- warranty beyond factory standard

Without knowing what company is offering this "Maintenance Protection plan" and what it covers, it's hard to know whether it's equivalent to HC.

Truthfully, it'll be hard to beat the online HC prices from Sacucci, Hyannis or College Hills.

Welcome to the forums. You might look into searching the forums for MPP and HondaCare for many posts on the topic.....

I got Honda Car with my last vehicle, and with my 2012 Pilot was sold a third party plan by the dealer that has turned out to be awesome. Several mechanics have told me that they got approval and payment immediately when calling with my repairs, and this gives me the freedom to go to any mechanic, not just the dealer. So although I was concerned at first, it has actually turned out to be better than HondaCare.

Care to fill us in on the name and details of the plan you got? Also the price and term length. Nice to hear something positive about 3rd party plans. Not often the case.
