Being and ex-Glen Burnie girl .. I could always find a place on "Richie Highway" for the next meet and greet

Hey, for those of you (from yesterday's lunccheon) who thought I bought expensive chrome tips for my exhaust pipes (and were pleasantly surprised to find out that they came from Wal-Mart), here's the info: the tips are made by Pilot (yup! ). The straight tips are part #PM-581 and the slanted/angled tips are part #PM-582 -- both are located in the Automotive section...

They are 6-1/4" long with a 2-3/4 " outlet. Installation was a breeze using only one (outside) bolt and U bracket. Very cheap price at $9.95 each!!!

*** Edited to fill in additional details (price, dimensions)...
Think I saw these tips @ Wal-mart. Do you have a picture of the tips on your Pilot, Kemosabe? Was thinking of getting these for my ride.

Good photos and stories. I saw mention of a possible "Pilot Winter Games". I'll put in a bid for Wintergreen as the host venue. I'm up there for a lot of the winter and can get 15% discounts on lift tickets and rentals and some lodging discounts too. Keep that in mind if there's interest.

Geez! I've had mine since 8/26/03 and I only have 781 miles on mine.

Since finally buying mine, I've taken a trip out of town by plane, I've been sick a couple of times. I've been too busy to take any long recreational trips. And I have a short commute to work.

WARNING: threaddrift~~

Ex-Glen Burnie girl, huh? Always good to encounter someone from "Bawlmer" or the surrounding neighborhoods.....

I have good memories of crossing the Bay Bridge and bearing right off of Rt. 50 onto good ol' Richie Highway (Rt. 2), which was always our point of entry into the city. (I grew up in a village on the Eastern Shore, and a trip to Baltimore was a fairly rare treat.)

Still remember passing Harundale Mall (the first "mall" I'd ever seen) and the special treat of stopping at Dunkin' Donuts en route to a shopping expedition at "Two Guys" (sort of an early-day Wal-Mart housed in what reminded me of an aircraft hangar). On the way home, we'd sometimes have dinner at a "White Coffee Pot" restaurant...talk about good home-style cooking!

Although much in Glen Burnie has changed, the basic "sense" of the place still seems much the same. But I rarely get up there nowadays.

Restart threaddrift with the addition of TUF (totally useless facts):

- Harundale Mall was the first enclosed shopping center (mall) east of the Mississippi (1958 if I remember the plaque correctly)

- That Dunkin' Donuts was, for quite a few years, the busiest in the country.

- The Two Guys department store went out of business in the early '80's when the owners figured there was more money in leasing the space then running a chain (and they were right). I really liked that store -- seemed to have anything and everything you needed.

BTW, sorry for being missing in action since the luncheon. I think I kinda overdid it at bit and whatever virus took me out for three days before the luncheon came back with a vengence that evening. To make matters worse, both my kids now have fevers.

Sorry to hear that. Hope everyone's better soon. Did the wife have the wavefront laser done?

My favorite place to eat when I was young was "Anns" famous for their foot long chili dogs. It's still there .. just up the road from Harundal Mall it's called Ann's Dari Creme now. I still stop in when ever I'm out that way. "Two Guys" ah.. the memories.

Wow, it's simply amazing... two days after the luncheon and the attendees are still conversing!!! Gotta love the comraderie that a Pilot gathering can bring out!!!

Like someone (I think it was mca3851) said earlier, it's not the place/location that's important, it's the people who make it enjoyable!!!

Well, I'm glad our final participant, DanL, finally checked in -- sorry to hear about the kids' fevers, my friend...

clarity: Has Mr. clarity had a chance to download any pics from his super-duper camera???
