Mr. Ziploc and I, driving home on the Washington Beltway, come up behind--what else, another Pilot!!!! Which sort of symbolizes that we're already looking forward to our next Pilot Meet---No. 3!

Thumbs up Excellent Recap!!!

Ziploc: That was an excellent photo-docu-drama recap of the 2nd Pilot luncheon in the DC greater metropolitan area!!!

jay: Here is my receipt from the purchase of the chrome tips at Wal-Mart -- they ended up being a little cheaper than $9.95...

Thumbs up

Sounds like a good time was had by all. I hope I'll finally be able to make the third gathering.

OK I now see the inside of the Tastee Freez at least - it flipped to page two when I made my post. What, no cool big neon ice cream cone marquee signs???

Hello havasu !!! Good to hear from you--hope all is well with you and yours! How's that Havasu Blue Pilot doing?

Good point about lacking a pic of the Tastee Freez exterior in this MD/DC/VA Luncheon No. 2 photo thread. I for one didn't think about this photo op, since kemosabe had included two nice exterior pics in another luncheon-related thread. For everybody's convenience, I've taken the liberty of copying kemo's Tastee Freez shots into this thread.

Sorry, though, no ice cream cone with the distinctive curl appears on the marquee these days!

And it wasn't the projects, it was Historic Downtown Laurel.

The other exterior shot by kemo of T-F, a real neighborhood landmark that still holds its own against the Mickey D's, Burger Kings, etc. etc.

I read that the restaurant was originally Laurel's first McDonalds. Goes back quite a ways.

Agree, jay, Mr. Ziploc and I thought it worked out pretty well. You know, sometimes it can be kinda nice to get away from Montgomery County [and similar areas in Northern VA] where all the slick new yuppie stuff is emerging out of the ground in the new developments/subdivisions.
