Default D.C. Metro Area Lunch

Any D.C. metro area Pilot owners interested in getting together for a meet & greet lunch sometime this summer?

Talking

Could be very cool! I was at Tyson's today and saw another Sagebrush pearl in the parking lot a few spaces down and it was VERY interesting to see that it set lower, and the pin stripes were placed differently. I wanted to go closer and check it out but I refrained against it, but it would be very cool to see everyone and their pilots in person.

You wanted some ideas, well something outdoors seems logical, which means sooner than later or closer to fall. I don't know what time of year these are held but I think it is somewhere close, what about:

Wine Festival?
a picnic somewhere like Great Falls? or Cabin Creek, or Catoctin Mountain?

I will keep thinking for some more...

My husband piped in with a cool idea...

MAGGIANOS - have a BIG family meal. You get to pick like two appetizers, four entrees, two desserts to be shared accross the table and they are all unlimited for around $19.99 a person.

Anyone who doesn't know it is an AMAZING italian restaurant in Tyson's II Gallery which is just off the beltway, somewhat centrally located... and we could all park in the parking lot, there should be plenty of room in some remote section.

Tyson's II is the one that they hold Cirque De Sole(sp) at each year....

What do you think?

klowry: Excellent brain-storming ideas, indeed!!! Tyson's seems okay by me... My only big criteria is a place where we can all park our Pilots together for a few photo ops!!! Also, a place where we can all sit down and chit-chat, too, and compare notes and stories!!! Glad some people are showing some interest -- let's allow this thread to run its course for about a week or so and see if others would like to jump in (knowing that not everyone gets a chance to log on every day...)

I'm all for it. We should try to start a calender so we can figure out a weekend that the most people can come out. Or just pick a weekend and start from there and move it accordingly.

May30th weekend is a no go for me (my wedding) and then honeymoon June20-July8. But if 1 of those times is good for everyone else I'll just have to catch the next one.

I would think something at Great Falls, Catoctin, Sugar Loaf, or 1 of the Patapsco State Park areas would be awesome for photo ops. I'm up for anything but more partial to spending the day outside. We could do a picnic and everyone brings something.

Also is there anything we could plan that we all enjoy? All the parks in MD for some nice hikes. A couple weeks ago the water at Great Falls was really high and quiet impressive. Specially since we were standing next to it climbing.

Default June 14th

Let's start by picking a date: does Saturday, June 14, 2003 at 11:30am seem doable for everyone? Check your calendars...

Speaking of Catoctin and parks, Mr. Ziploc and I took the Pilot for a spin up in the Catoctin area this past weekend. To my consternation, the digital camera's batteries quit before I could take my planned pictures of the Pilot "in nature." But here's a few pics I snapped off before the camera died.....

Another Catoctin area pic. This scene was across the road from an Alpaca (similar to llama) farm.

Can you imagine? There is a rustic house, out in the middle of nowhere, right next to this stream. The owners are constantly serenaded by the sound of the rapids....
