Ask for the actual warranty document-and read the small print.

Off topic but I started at college park honda (my first stop) when shopping for my new pilot. Called and listed the features I wanted and colors and was told no problem we have three that meet your specifications. Went straight there they copied my drivers license and took me to a lot (not on site about three miles away). The salesman looked around for a bit and said that's strange and then tried to sell me an accord? I asked to be taken back immediately. He did so and told me they could have one there for me tomorrow. I said that sounds great and when we got back I hoped in my car and left (a little angry) since they had just wasted my morning.

I ended up buying at Browns in Glen Burnie, they were hassle free and there was no pressure. My sales guy was (Fred Martin) really laid back. Anyway I paid a little more then I wanted to (about $300) after they charged for wheel locks and stripes as well as the $100 processing fee that everyone complains about but I have been completely happy with the precess and the purchase. Use TMV and Truecar pricing and print it out and take it with you. It reduces their leverage and should be a great place to start your negotiations.

Even though it's off topic I hope this helps.

Since they copied your license, it would be interesting to know if they ran a credit check on you while the salesman had you over at the offsite lot.

Default Not good experience, Stay Away from College Park Honda

Went to College Park Honda looking at the Pilot also w/ quote from Amex and Costco programs. They said sure we have your color and model, and we can match the price. Sure enough they match the price and then add this fee, that fee, and some sort of "package" w/ unwanted mud guards, pin stripe, mats, etc that totaled like 1200 more (just for the "package", mind you, plus all the fees).

Guy would not budge on removing anything from "package". I walked away and vowed never to come back. Took my business elsewhere and got my Pilot a few months ago.

Their warranty is from a 3rd party, not Honda. I didn't look too much into it once they pulled the "package" deal on me... Knowing that they are sneaky salesmen, I wouldn't put it past them that the warranty is also a gimmick, all included in your final price....

I bought my first Honda (accord) from them years ago (8-9 yrs) and was taken for the same ride (ie, match an ad price, but must buy their "packaged" deal). I was young and inexperience then. Seems they haven't changed much in almost 10 yrs... w/ the same ole gimmick.

I don't see anything on Experian, I pulled a free one this morning. That would have really p****d me off!

I actually bought my Touring 09 there for 35k including package of side steps, mats, & window visors in May 2009, which I think was a pretty good deal... I had links on my iPhone to deals from other Dealers to get them to bring the price down and I stuck to not going over my set price. they have a lot of extra models across the street and also have more about 2.5 miles away at their body shop lot. the customer service has been pretty good and prompt when you are there... but if you rely on them returning your call... forget about it!! One thing I like is that they are opened on Sundays and they offer extra savings for service on Sundays! Convenience is a big plus for me.

I dealt with College Park Honda and they were just simply the worst! They said they would beat Pohanka Honda's price on the Pilot. Once I got to there dealership.....They tried to add that PRO-PACK CRAP on to the price that Pohanka gave me. Needless to say I purchased from Pohanka Honda in MD from Aubrey Farrare. He was very pleasant to deal with and I should have just purchased from him in the 1st place instead of playing the can you go lower game...... I'm happy with my 2011 Honda Pilot!!!!

COLLEGE PARK are SCAMMERS!!!!

I called ahead and they promised me my pilot with the same exact specs I had requested. I get there and they didnt have anything I requested but they said they can have it there in 2 weeks. 2 weeks?!?! It took me 45 min to get there! I would have waited if they gave me a good deal but after they tried charging me for wheel locks and extra crap it ended up being a lot more than other dealers. I was a little dissapointed in my experience with them.

Browns did the same thing to me. I called ahead of time to let them know what I wanted, they lured me out there saying they have my vehicle with the specs I wanted. I get out there and it was close to what I was looking for but not exactly. (Sorry, but if I'm spending close to $40k on a car it has to be EXACTLY what I want) Then they sit me down to try to sell me the similar Pilot and would not budge on their price. Complete waste of time.

I called Bel Air Honda and they said they dont have what I was looking for but they can get it for me. 30 minutes later I got a call from the dealership saying my car I had requested would be there in 2 hours and to come in and pick it up. Got the exact car I was looking for and the exact price I wanted to pay. No hassle. All I ask is for a little honesty. I WILL NOT do business with liars. Bel Air Honda gets my vote for being the BEST dealer in the area. I should have just gone to Bel Air first since my cousin and uncle bought their Pilots from there a couple months ago.

I've also heard good things about Northwest Honda so you might want to give them a try.

Sorry Flip, I had a much better experience at Browns and they worked with me on price. I'm sorry to hear you had a bad experience, they have been really great on my end. Next time I would ask to speak with a manager.

I've been dealing with Landmark in Alexandria for a while and, when the lease on our CR-V ended went there looking for a Pilot. I found a car I liked, they handed us the keys and said "drive it and see if you like it". We liked the car and said we'd be back. There was no hassle. No what would it take to make you buy today nonsense, just come back when you're ready. I ran the numbers on KBB and took the dealer price, added $600 for profit and went back. I showed them the price, they accepted and we drove away. No sweat, no hassles, no BS about buying this or needing that.
