Pricing help in NY - Honda Pilot

I'm looking to buy a 2004 EX-L Nav. I'm in White Plains NY so can shop NYC and surrounding burbs. Anyone have particular ideas about current pricing trends, specials at any dealers in the area, long distance purchasing, etc. Any tips on how to get the Pilot at the best price would be welcome.

Around here, I wouldn't expect to get more than $500-1000 off MSRP. If you get any discount at all, consider it a deal. I don't think the NY area is allocated very many Pilots:

I still see few on the road.
Area dealers consistently have their allotment sold before or within a few days of arrival. Go to any Honda dealer; if you see, e.g., seven Pilots on the lot, I'd bet five of them are already sold, awaiting delivery. Go back in a week and see which of the original seven are still there.
Area dealer advertisements rarely even acknowledge the Pilot's existence.

I'd get a price from a couple of the Ohio dealers mentioned frequently here as well as a quote from the PA dealer linked in my signature (not as cheap as Ohio but will deliver to NY). See if anyone in your area will match these prices.

Was living in Westchester when looking for our RES in Nov. My suggestions:

- Reach out to all the tri-state dealers for quotes via internet (some will use the internet as an initial contact, but the more savvy places will conduct entire deal from their keyboard)
- Negotiate with a few of the better priced shops
- Stay away from accessories that you can find online and install yourself
- Plan to close a deal the last day or two in the month

Did well with a dealer who is near my in-laws in Philadelphia. Don't think we're supposed to give specifics in forums, so PM if you want details.

Try Honda of Nauet by the Pallisades Mall. I purchased thier. I got to say its a great dealership and they were flrxable in the pricing.

If you don't mind driving upstate a little, Try Friendly Honda in Poughkeepsie, NY. They were great and did not even charge to install accessories. They were priced the same as the Internet. We got about 800 off msrp, but did really well with our trade. 1500 more than book and other Honda dealers.

Don't get discouraged by some of the posts. I picked up mine last week from Rt 23 Honda in NJ for $1000 over invoice. I simply emailed them with my best deal which was from Ohio at $500 over invoice + $350 shipping. They also gave me 3.74% financing for 4 years. Very happy here in NJ
